Nandakumar holds Cain Chair at LSU. Previously he was the GASCO Chair at The Petroleum Institute, and was with University of Alberta for 25 years. He received his BTech from Madras University (1973), MSc from U Saskatchewan (1975) and PhD from Princeton University (1979). He has received the Alexander von Humnboldt research fellowship (1989-90) and the Albright & Wilson Americas Award from CSCHE (1991). He was elected Fellow of the Chemical Institute of Canada (1991), of the Engineering Institute of Canada (2006) and of the Canadian Academy of Engineering (2007). He received, from the University of Alberta, the McCalla Professorship (1992), the Killam Annual professorship (2001) for excellence in research and the Rutherford Award (2001) for excellence in teaching. He also received the Excellence in Education award (2002) from APEGGA. He was Editor-in-Chief of CJChE during 2005-2009. Dr. Nandakumar received the premier award of the CSChE, called the R.S. Jane Memorial Award in 2008.

Dr. Gavin M. Walker has received his PhD in Chemical Engineering from Queen’s University Belfast in 1995. Currently, he is working as a Senior Lecturer at Queen’s where he is Advisor of Studies for Chemical Engineering. He is serving as an editorial member of Chem. Eng. Journal. He has authored over 175 research articles in international journals and conferences and has a personal research group of 10 PhD students and post-doctoral researchers. He was elected Fellow of the Institution of Chemical Engineers and has recently been awarded the prestigious Royal Academy of Engineering, Leverhulme Trust Research Fellowship for his contribution Chemical Engineering research.

Dragomir Yankov is the Director of Institute of Chemical Engineering, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. He earned his M.Sc. degree in Chemistry (Chemical Cybernetics) from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, Sofia, Bulgaria in 1984. Dragomir Yankov has worked at IChE throughout whole his professional career. He joined the Institute as Research Fellow in 1984, where he received his Ph.D. degree in 1998 and is currently Professor in Chemical Engineering, since 2011. During the years he visited as postdoctoral fellow Ecole Polytechnique, Montreal, Canada; Lund University, Sweden; ENCIACET, Toulouse, France and Imperial College, London, UK. He is a member of the editorial board of the Bulgarian Chemical Communications and Journal of Advanced Chemical Engineering.

Dr. M. R. Riazi is currently a professor and the chairman of chemical engineering at Kuwait University. He received his MSc and PhD degrees from Pennsylvania State University where he served as an assistant professor of chemical engineering. He was also a visiting scholar/faculty in both Chemical and Petroleum Engineering Departments at Illinois (Chicago), Texas (Austin), McGill (Montreal), Waterloo (Canada), Wright State (Ohio), Norwegian University of Science and Technology (Trondheim), and various universities in the Middle East. He has about 140 publications including 5 books and a solutions manual as well as about 100 conference presentations mainly in the fields of petroleum and chemical technology. His new book titled “Exploration and Production of Petroleum and Natural Gases” will be published in the United States later this year. He has been invited speaker and consultant to more than 50 major oil companies and research centers worldwide and has conducted about 70 workshops and short courses in more than 40 different countries. He is the founding editor and editor in chief of IJOGCT (London, UK) and an editor of Journal of Petroleum Science and Engineering (Elsevier). He has been awarded distinguished researcher and teaching awards at several universities including an award from the former Amir of Kuwait. He also received a Diploma of Honor from National (American) Petroleum Engineering Society and is a Fellow of American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE). M.M. Nasef has completed his PhD and postdoctoral studies from Chemical Engineering department, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). He is a professor at Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology and head of advanced materials group at Centre for Hydrogen Energy, Institute of Future Energy, UTM. He has published more than 100 research papers in reputed journals and has been working on the developments of functional materials for energy and environmental applications with emphasis on membrane separation.

Ida Idayu Muhamad is a Professor at the Department of Bioprocess Engineering, Faculty of Chemical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, and a Fellow of Institute of Food Science and Technology, United Kingdom. Currently she is one of the appointed Scientific Advisors also Head of Biomaterial Cluster for the IJN-UTM Cardiovascular Engineering Centre, for research collaboration between Institut Jantung Negara and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. Prior to this present position, she headed the Bioprocess Engineering Department (2010-2013) and management committee of Centre of Fiqh (2011-2013), Science and Technology (CFiRST). She has won numerous awards related to her research projects, both at the international and national levels also the owner of 28 patents filed and 4 granted. Her work has opened up new areas in the production of new compounds and biomaterials through green processes. Those naturally functional, environmentally friendly processes and products are the way forward towards sustainable future.
