Biography
Nandakumar holds Cain Chair at LSU. Previously he was the GASCO Chair at The Petroleum Institute, and was with University of Alberta for 25 years. He received his BTech from Madras University (1973), MSc from U Saskatchewan (1975) and PhD from Princeton University (1979). He has received the Alexander von Humnboldt research fellowship (1989-90) and the Albright & Wilson Americas Award from CSCHE (1991). He was elected Fellow of the Chemical Institute of Canada (1991), of the Engineering Institute of Canada (2006) and of the Canadian Academy of Engineering (2007). He received, from the University of Alberta, the McCalla Professorship (1992), the Killam Annual professorship (2001) for excellence in research and the Rutherford Award (2001) for excellence in teaching. He also received the Excellence in Education award (2002) from APEGGA. He was Editor-in-Chief of CJChE during 2005-2009. Dr. Nandakumar received the premier award of the CSChE, called the R.S. Jane Memorial Award in 2008.
