Biography
Dragomir Yankov is the Director of Institute of Chemical Engineering, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. He earned his M.Sc. degree in Chemistry (Chemical Cybernetics) from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridskiâ€, Sofia, Bulgaria in 1984. Dragomir Yankov has worked at IChE throughout whole his professional career. He joined the Institute as Research Fellow in 1984, where he received his Ph.D. degree in 1998 and is currently Professor in Chemical Engineering, since 2011. During the years he visited as postdoctoral fellow Ecole Polytechnique, Montreal, Canada; Lund University, Sweden; ENCIACET, Toulouse, France and Imperial College, London, UK. He is a member of the editorial board of the Bulgarian Chemical Communications and Journal of Advanced Chemical Engineering.
Research Interest
Kinetics and modelling of enzyme processes with free and immobilised enzymes and cells, Separation processes in biotechnology -application of aqueous two phase systems for separation and purification of bioproducts; separation of products from fermentation broth by extraction, membrane methods and supercritical extraction, antibiotics production and separation.
